On February 14, 2003 the “Golden Corner Animal Guardians, Inc.” was organized for the “Protection and Welfare of Creatures Great and Small”.  There are too many healthy and adoptable animals being needlessly euthanized in Oconee County.  The organization feels there is a need for its services here in the Golden Corner.  Humane treatment of all living creatures must become a way of life if man if to co-exist with wildlife and domestic animals.

The Golden Corner Animal Guardians is a “non-profit” 501(c) (3) organization, governed by a board of directors and committees, with the help of many hard working volunteers.

The founding members, Julia Glass, Jackie Rocci, Ken Miller, Patricia Lightweis and Carol Spencer, spent countless hours, actually months, working to organize a true safe haven with compassionate care for animals in the Golden Corner.

Our long-term goal is to have an animal shelter, which will offer a spay/neuter program.

Educating people about the care and responsibility of being a caregiver to an animal is very important.  Like people, animals require fresh water, nutritional food, proper shelter, a lot of love and an annual medical exam.
